What is an adjustment?
There are many ways an adjustment is applied to the patient. Chiropractic adjustments usually involve a quick thrust that helps add motion to spinal joints that aren’t moving right. Some methods use the doctor’s hands, an instrument, a special table or the force of gravity. The appropriate adjustment will be catered to the patient’s needs.
What do chiropractors treat?
Chiropractors are able to determine areas of your body (particularly the spine) that have lost their mobility. The result is often muscular tightness and inflammation. Chiropractic adjustments restore movement in particular joints, potentially reducing muscular tightness and inflammation. Chiropractic adjustments can be useful in correcting:
-
Headaches
-
Backaches
-
Pain and stiffness in neck
-
Pain between shoulders
-
Pain in hips or legs pain, numbness in hands, feet
-
Pain in shoulders or arms muscular
-
Sciatica
-
Shoulder problems
-
Tennis elbow
-
Carpal tunnel

The goal of including lifestyle advice is the help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve- one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.
Are chiropractic adjustments safe?
Yes, a Canadian study examining the Chiropractic adjustment and vertebrobasilar artery (VBA) stroke in two Canadian provinces concluded, “At the ecological level, the increase in VBA stroke does not seem to be associated with an increase in the rate of chiropractic utilization”. According to the 2010 Drug Overdose Mortality Data In Detail as Reported By Paulozzi et al; 22,134 deaths associated with pharmaceuticals was reported.
Chiropractic care enjoys an excellent track record by allowing patients to avoid unnecessary drugs and risky surgery. On rare occasions, a thorough exam can identify whom chiropractic care might be unsuited for. Compare the statistics, and choose the best treatment for you.
Should I see a chiropractor?
Eight out of ten people will experience back pain at some point in their life. For many people, the pain can keep them from work, school, or even their day to day activities. Back pain will often go away on its own, after a week or so. The goal is to remove your complaint as soon as possible so you can get back to your life. One of the reasons back pain is so common is that it can be caused by so many different things:
-
Posture
-
Car Accidents
-
Work-related injuries
-
Stress
-
Sports injury
-
Improper lifting
Any of these things can cause your spine to shift from its normal position or affect your range of motion. This results in pressure and inflammation on the joints, muscles, and nerves in that area. Chiropractic care can correct these misalignments, and get you back to your everyday activities.
